Casa de Fontainho a granite style farmhouse originally built in 1810 is situated in the North of Portugal in the Minho region and is nestled in the Peneda / Gerêz National Park in the village of Fontainho, Cabril, a lovely isolated place, sat on the Rio Cabril and surrounded on all sides by majestic mountains. The farmhouse is beside a quiet country lane and is surrounded by well farmed fields of maize, potatoes and other well tendered crops.
The village of Fontainho only consists of a few granite farmhouses. Nearby in Cabril with its beautiful Salamonde reservoir (great for trout fishing) offers places to eat, a mini-market, local church and a few cafés. A daily bread van will pass the farmhouse and twice weekly the fruit & vegetable, fishmongers and grocerys. The best drinking water can be obtained from a natural well known as the corga within walking distance

Kitchenette with cooker, hob, fridge-freezer, washing machine.
Although simply furnished, the main room, living/dining & kitchenette is comfortably furnished, with a large wood burning stove, a couple of chairs and small sofa, a large table with chairs and Satellite TV.
Maid service is provided once a week. Towels and bed linen included. Can you kindly take your own towels for use outside or at the river or lake.
